Hi! I’m Susanna.

I’m a storyteller, researcher, and dog lover.

I started this Substack because I got laid off from my job, and I suddenly had more time to get back into doing things that I love. One of those things was writing.

I think about the human condition a lot—what makes us tick, the systems around us, why we do things. I write about these things, often incorporating a personal lense and/or applying my expertise. More often than not, these topics are deeply personal. I incorporate public health research to give more context because 1. I’m a public health scientist and 2. I love to communicate science.

All my life, I have loved stitching together words to tell stories that make people think, feel, and assess. If these stories can help people be physically and mentally healthier, that’s even better.

I love connecting with people and learning more about what makes them tick. Reach out if you want to chat about our mutual interest in research and science communication, or if you want to share your latest passions!

Thanks for being here!

Susanna's dogs sitting on a platform in a large park. Korra is a black dog with white on her chest and belly and paws (like she's wearing socks). To her right is a German Shepherd, Siena. Both are sitting and Siena has her tongue out.
